Tomoko Takahashi is an Osaka-born Japanese artist living and working in Chicago IL. In 2017 she moved to the United States. Ever since childhood she’s had a penchant for creativity, finding inspiration for her art through her interactions with animals and nature. She especially enjoys the process of visualizing her thoughts and daydreams, and then using her senses and hands to bring them to life.  She often ponders how nature and humanity have evolved through the ages into today’s world. This is where her interest and curiosity lie. The universal forces behind this evolution inspire her imagination and resonate in her art. The wonder of existence, the joys of life, our dialogue with nature - these are some of the elements and concepts at the core of her art. She is always searching for new ways to express herself, as she’s done in her ceramics work in the past and in her paintings and illustrations more recently.
